Battery Storage
Store your batteries in a dry cool place out of the sunlight, BUT NOT in the fridge or freezer. Years ago people were told to store their batteries in the fridge. Now, with the new chemicals in batteries and the new technology, storing batteries in the fridge or freezer will shorten their lifespan and cause them to become intermittent. Do not store them individually in your pocket with coins or keys as they can discharge the battery.
Rechargeable Batteries?
A few hearing instrument manufacturers have developed devices that utilize rechargeable hearing aid batteries. Some of these hearing instruments have recently become available in Canada. Pending their success rechargeable hearing aids and hearing aid batteries may become more common in the near future.
